Tony Spoke to concerned citizens in Salem about power struggles in Washington and how it caused her and her husband to flip flop back and forth on what political party best represents their views. Tony expressed his core concretive republican views and asked them to reflect on the way ahead for Missouri as they make their voting choices. Tony speaks with a family whose father is terminally ill and whose mother is in need of her third brain surgery. The Family has two children preparing to go to college and their cost of living grows because of things like increased electricity rates. The entire family works together to get by so they can have some prosperity and a quality family life. Tony felt privileged to have met this family and praised their ability to find happiness and joy among so many hard ships. He asked for us to remember that anyone could find themselves with similar hardships at any moment. The strength of this family shows that we all are susceptible to life altering events that may require a hand up until we can get back on our feet again.

Tony and this young man spoke about the importance of voting and staying in touch with political happenings that affect Missouri. Tony wants all Missourians to regain trust in their leaders and is working to inspire every eligible voter to participate in the 2010 election. People that have not planned to vote are generally telling Tony that they feel insignificant rather than disinterested. Tony asks you to speak to friends and family and encourage them to VOTE. Reassure them that what matters to them should be the priority of their representatives.

Tony speaks to a family as they support an on call Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) family member at work in Van Buren. Their concerns were training for first responder, emergency management personnel and unemployment. Their hope for stronger more reliable leaders was low until Tony told them that if he is elected he will commit as much time as possible to come to towns and small cities to hear their voice. They told Tony that they just want to be heard but more importantly they wanted to feel included in the decision making process in Washington.

2010-01-13 Administrator The Issues

Focusing on how to develop ones voting methods, Tony emphasized the importance of defining ones views and voting for the candidate that is most likely to represent those beliefs and needs. Tony said, “Many Missourians have a solid idea of their beliefs and needs. In the past both contemporary parties provided similar representation but as of late candidate’s campaign with up the middle principles and when elected they support extreme views and do not bring the common views of Missourians together.” Tony further asked the students to take the time to consider how the majority of people define the party stances and to compare the candidates’ actions as they relate to their views. Tony said, “Finding the candidate that will follow through with promises and stay aligned with the needs of the people is the most important voting practice”. The students were concerned about many issues and were enthusiastic about having a third choice in Missouri for U.S. Senate in 2010. Tony ended the discussion expressing that he is not trying to ask the people of Missouri to change their views but to change how they choose their representation. Independently selecting representation for each race will prove to provide Missouri with leadership that is more interested in Missouri and less interested in political posture.

2010-01-12 Administrator The Issues

Tony enjoys the outdoors and will be a strong supporter of protecting our environment. He realizes the importance of ensuring our children have a healthy environment to raising our grandchildren in. He will continue to do work to support clean environment initiatives. Missourians chose new beginnings with an overwhelming vote supporting the Missouri renewable energy initiative. Continuing cheaper, safer and cleaner ways to protect our environment should always be considered in every venture. This initiative addresses a switch to solar, wind and other renewable energy sources through fragment increases until the year 2021. Missouri Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Safety have already implemented the use of wind generated power at several locations in the state. We must continue to work hard to create and use Innovated approaches to establish realistic parameters and clean use methods that align with our industrial needs. Conservation and energy efficiency are vitally important if we are to have a cleaner and healthier environment. Industry must grow without adding uncontrolled emissions, waste, and pollution into our environment. We must work hard to find a medium that can achieve progressive improvements over time without greatly impacting productivity or forcing unrealistic businesses practices that result in economic hardships. We must move in a timely manner to identify priorities of action to ensure we do not fall short and accept permanent environmental degradation or create additional concerns for the future. We must continue to focus on greenhouse gas emissions that lead to global climate change, trace air emissions, groundwater contamination from natural compounds in coal ash and fine particulate emissions. We are cleaner today than we were yesterday and should continue one step at a time until we are cleaner tomorrow.
